Hola reinas! Welcome back to Latina Sin Límites, the podcast created and hosted by me, Vanessa Rae Alonso—your Latina mentor, here to guide you hacia tus sueños and beyond.
How many times have you heard “Calladita te ves más bonita”? Maybe from your mamá, a tía, or even at work. Those words aren’t just harmless—they shape how we show up, speak up, and claim our space. In this episode, we’re breaking free from Calladita Culture ® so you can reclaim your voz, your poder, and your worth.
This episode is extra special because it’s my first time bringing on a guest: the incredible Pam Covarrubias, Latina mindset coach and host of Café con Pam. Together, we uncover the five Calladita wounds that keep us stuck and share tools to help you heal, speak up with confidence, and live sin límites.
Today’s gem from my Caja de Tesoros is none other than Pam’s podcast, Café con Pam. It’s a weekly space created by and for Latinas where mindset, cultura, and personal growth come together in ways that are both powerful and practical. If you felt seen in this episode, I know you’ll love Pam’s conversations and tools to help you live más despierta y sin miedo. ¡Es un game changer, reina!
So tell me, from today’s episode, what would you add to your Caja de Tesoros to help you heal and live a life sin límites? Share your takeaway on Instagram and tag us @LatinaSinLimitesPod so we can celebrate tu crecimiento juntas.
About This Episode
The first wound we explore is silence, that voice in your head saying “Calladita te ves más bonita.” This belief keeps us quiet in meetings, relationships, and even with ourselves. Pam explains how staying quiet (or overtalking to compensate) both disconnect us from our true voice.
Think about the last time you held back in a conversation. What story were you telling yourself at that moment? Awareness is the first step to reclaiming your voice.
The wound of power shows up when we give away decisions or control everything to feel safe. I share how I gave away my power to those closest to me, even in my business.
Pause and ask: Where am I waiting for permission to move forward? Imagine what would change if you trusted your own yes, even if it meant making mistakes.
When you feel pressure to fit in or over-explain who you are, you’re facing the wound of identity. This wound pushes us to erase ourselves or overcompensate for validation.
Take a few minutes to write down three things that make you feel most authentically you—and choose one to honor this week.
The wound of commitment keeps us stuck in indecision or drowning in overcommitment. Pam’s advice? Shift from trying to doing.
What would your life look like if every commitment felt aligned and energizing? Visualize it, and start saying yes only to what truly lights you up.
The deepest wound is worth. It whispers that you’re not enough until you achieve more. I share my story of checking every box: career, money, family and still feeling empty.
Repeat this affirmation daily: “I am worthy, not because of what I do, but because of who I am.”
Now that we covered all five wounds, Pam offers us a path forward: the F.R.E.E. framework: Future, Road, Examine, Explore. This gentle but powerful process helps us reconnect with our truth, reflect on what’s holding us back, and move into action con intención.
What would it feel like to give yourself permission to move at your own pace, with your own values guiding the way?
Now tell me, reina. Which of these steps spoke to you most? Share your thoughts in your IG Stories and tag @LatinaSinLimitesPod so we can cheer you on.
