Written by Vanessa Rae Alonso | Jul 22, 2025 1:26:46 PM

Hola reinas! Bienvenida to Latina Sin Límites, the podcast created and hosted by me, Vanessa Rae Alonso, your Latina mentor, to guide you hacia tus sueños y más allá. En el episodio de hoy, we’re facing one of the biggest saboteadores in our dreams: fear.

I open up about the seven years I spent letting fear run the show, and how everything changed once I decided to see fear not as an enemy, but as my biggest fuel for my Latina resilience. Today, I’m giving you what helped me shift from being a stuck Latina to a Latina sin límites, and reina, it’s a game-changer. I’ll walk you through the F.E.A.R. Framework, the exact tool that helped me reclaim my power. You can download it for free when you subscribe to our newsletter!

Facing fear isn’t just about being brave, it’s about reconocer de donde viene, questioning it, and turning it into action. If fear has ever made you doubt yourself, delay your sueños, or settle for menos than you deserve, this episode is para ti. It’s time to reclaim your power, challenge the narratives that aren’t yours, and take bold steps toward una vida sin límites.

About This Episode

Face Your Narrative

We often believe fear is something natural, but more often than not, it’s planted by otras personas. As the letter F stands for “Face Your Narrative”, I share how generational voices shaped my early narratives and how questioning them set me free to start my path sin límites.

“The life you’re meant to live isn’t limited by the seeds others planted, it’s only limited by the ones you choose to nurture.”

When you realize that many of your fears didn’t start with you, you can finally uproot them and start planting seeds of courage, resiliency, and unapologetic Latina self-belief.

Expand Your Perspective

Breaking free from inherited fears isn’t always clean or easy, especially when familia is involved. I walk you through my journey of challenging my dad’s money fears, honoring my mom’s entrepreneurial spirit, and redefining estabilidad on my own terms.

"If I was going to put my license, my career, my future in jeopardy, it had to be for something I believe in, and have control over."

Learning to advocate for yourself, even when it feels scary, is one of the most radical acts of self-love you can commit to.

Acting Before You Feel Ready

Spoiler: You’re never fully ready. I share how I sat on business cards, a Google number, and $3,000 for years. Until finally, community, mentorship, and some tough love from my esposo pushed me to leap.

"The only thing scarier than taking the leap... is spending your whole life wondering what would’ve happened if you had."

It’s not about waiting for courage to show up, it’s about taking messy, beautiful action and letting confidence catch up.

Reframing Fear as Fuel

In the letter R, I teach you how to see fear not as a stop sign, but as your personal compass. El miedo shows you where you’re about to grow, if you’re willing to move toward it, not away from it.

"Fear isn’t always a stop sign. Sometimes, it’s a compass."

By facing your fears and reframing their meaning, you unlock the version of you that’s been esperando to bloom from the concrete.
